Shaping a brighter future together.

Ensemble (noun): a group of items viewed as a whole rather than individually.

The times we live in call for great strategies. Strategies to build a fairer, more sustainable world. As we witness social sector consolidation, dying funding models, policy by Royal Commission and a new generation seeking better, we believe the ensemble concept is the key to unlocking these much-needed plans.

We live the ensemble philosophy through:

  • Developing isolated plans with insular perspectives is not delivering the outcomes to address our social and environmental challenges. A better way of doing strategy is needed. A way in which organisations consider the sectors, systems and networks within which they operate and acknowledge the complexity of the problems they seek to address. The ensemble lens to strategy considers the individual and the whole, intersectionality and interdependencies, and helps leaders, organisations and social entrepreneurs determine where they can drive the greatest impact. This holistic perspective then extends to strategy execution, where we help with resilient business models and an understanding of the capabilities, capacity and structure needed to create impact.

  • Bringing multiple stakeholders together to plan for the future has the potential to create significant change. We have extensive experience working across and within sectors to help align objectives, leverage assets and establish partnerships that lead to long-term change.

  • We understand that a range of skills are required to execute new strategies, so we have collected our own ensemble of high-quality practitioners with whom we collaborate. From branding to government engagement to recruitment and more, we can link our clients with our trusted network to help bring their strategies to life.

There’s no ‘I’ in ‘Ensemble’. Just a lot of E’s, for Experience, Engagement and Energy.

We deliver the ensemble philosophy through our values:

  • A play on words it may be, but we turn up every day because we believe in making a difference, for those that make a difference. This value is ingrained in what we do, how we do it, and most importantly, with whom we work.

  • This is about us as a team and the support we give. This is about us as part of a collective solution. This is about us as an open, welcoming and inclusive business. We know we can only achieve better when doing it together.

  • Never afraid to admit when words are just words without something to back it up. This is about us valuing the tangible. Recognising strategies are not developed in a void, we help our clients bring ideas to life without creating ‘war and peace’.

  • A word we probably overuse but encompasses our desire to push the thinking. That of each other, of our friends, partners and networks, and that of our clients.

  • As we say, we aren’t consulting robots, we are people who bring experience; that of success, of failure and everything in-between. We see our role as beyond just the point in time of one engagement. We see your outcomes as ours, and we commit to that desire for shared success.

  • Be it outdated corporate strategy frameworks, patriarchal power structures or simply ‘the way things have always been done around here’, we challenge where we see the opportunity for greater impact.
